When was the last time you took a break from work ?
Starting my newsletter with a "break" related article? 🤔
Hello everyone 👋,
I am Stefania, a techie girl passionate about the world, and this is my first article. It took me quite a while to start it (after lots of procrastination and defeating my fear of not writing something really good 🙈), but hopefully now is the time to actually do it.
As a learner in the writing area, I would love some feedback. And if you have any, please leave it here in the comments. 💜

So, let’s dig in.
A break from work? Why?
Well, sometimes all you need is a break. A break from everything—places, people, and especially work. A kind of life detox in order to bring back creativity, inspiration, motivation, and that eagerness to do things with love and passion.
And that’s what I did almost two months ago.
I packed my life, left my comfort zone and flew two continents away. I’ve chose to travel a while, to change contexts and experience new things.
Was it easy ?
In the beginning yes, it felt almost like a very long and relaxing holiday. < Just to clear this out, I’ve never took more than 2 weeks 🙈 >. But soon a different kind of restlessness set in. The long sunny days stretched before me, and a nagging voice whispering, "What now?".
With newfound time, I delved into forgotten passions. Long walks sparked new ideas, the rhythm of my footsteps mirroring the rhythm of my thoughts. Getting lost in inspiring stories rekindled my imagination, transporting me to worlds beyond the present.
Learning Python and React Native, skills I've always wanted to explore, ignited a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Each line of code I wrote felt like a brushstroke on a new canvas, a chance to create something meaningful.
These activities weren't just ways to fill time; they were the missing pieces I needed. They revived my creativity, and I'm filled with a renewed sense of purpose and motivation. This break wasn't just a vacation; it was a chance to rediscover myself and return with a heart brimming with inspiration.
So, to keep it short, taking a longer break can offer a wealth of benefits, but make sure to plan it well in advance, to be able to truly enjoy every moment.

Long breaks can really be refreshing. Personally they’ve helped me recover from burnout, gain new ideas and perspectives, and given me space to pursue new interests / side projects.
